Community Grants

In April of each year, Council invites applications from eligible community groups to apply for funding as part of its community grant scheme.

A budget provision of 2.5% of the previous year’s levied rates to be provided for in each year to distribute to community and sporting organisations upon application to the council.

Please contact the Shire office on 9888 1005 or email for more information.

Fund Objective

Establishment or improvement of playing areas or buildings necessary for the conduct of sport or for community use, to assist community groups in establishing a service or activity seen as a need for the betterment of and improvement to the enjoyment of life within the community.

Council’s general philosophy is to fund one third of the total project cost and applicants are encouraged to contribute their own funding and/or obtain grant funding for the remaining project costs.  The fund is not to be used for equipment, trophies, prizes or expenses, such as loan repayments, incurred in the conduct of the sport or in community activities.
