The next Local Government ordinary election will be held on Saturday 18th October 2025.

This year, the Shire of Wickepin will have four (4) Councillor vacancies, each for a four-year term.

Who Can Vote?

Residents:
If you’re a resident in the Shire of Wickepin and enrolled on the State electoral roll, you are automatically included on the local government roll.

To vote, you must ensure your enrolment details are correct. Check your enrolment status by visiting the Western Australian Electoral Commission:

Owners and Occupiers:
If you own or occupy rateable property in the Shire of Wickepin but do not live here, you may be eligible to vote as an owner/occupier.

To qualify, you must:

  • Be enrolled on the State electoral roll where you live;
  • Own or have a legal right of continuous occupation (via lease or other legal agreement) of property within the Shire;
  • Have a right of occupation that extends for at least three (3) months.

Being on the owner/occupier roll allows you to vote both where you live and where you own or occupy property.

To be eligible to vote in the 2025 Local Government Election, you must complete an Enrolment Eligibility Claim form and return it to the Shire Office by 5:00pm 22 August 2025.

The Shire of Wickepin encourages all business owners, property owners, and residents to participate and have their say in this year’s election.
